⁹ They cut off his head and stripped off his weapons, and sent them ^[a]throughout the land of the Philistines, ^(A)to bring the good news ^(B)to the house of their idols and to the people. ¹⁰ They put his weapons in the ^[b]temple of ^(C)Ashtaroth, and ^(D)they nailed his body to the wall of ^(E)Beth-shan. ¹¹ Now when ^(F)the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead heard ^[c]what the Philistines had done to Saul,
